DESCRIPTION:The Repair Café Oceanside is a free community event to which people can bring their damaged items from home. Volunteers skilled in repair contribute their time to help you get your items fixed for free! It’s also a chance to learn with like-minded folks who believe in reusing instead of just discarding still-useful goods into the landfill. You can watch and even help\, while enjoying a cup of tea or coffee. It is a positive\, friendly and interesting experience for all. \n\n\n\nA Repair Café event is being hosted on Saturday April 25th- from 10AM to 1PM. We have a variety of fixers focusing on small electronics\, tech\, appliances\, woodwork and furniture\, toys\, mending of clothing. \n\n\n\nThis event also connects to Earth Day\, 2026. What does Earth Day mean to you? To us\, it means repairing\, reusing\, recycling our favorite items. Our core values in our locally hosted Repair Cafe! \n\n\n\nCoffee\, tea and baked goods are always provided\, and we hope to provide a space that can save a few items from the landfill.

DESCRIPTION:The saying goes “Old soldiers never die\, they simply fade away”. Not so with cranky old ex-army guy Jack. He will not surrender to the old folks’ home without a good fight. His schoolteacher daughter thinks if he can only visit her classroom of young innocents\, it might loosen his stubborn resolve. This could be a tall order though. When describing what serving your country was like in 1943\, will Jack expose his soft centre or a wound that has never healed? This is an adult drama about all the battles we face in life when only a low stone wall separates us from delicious peace. \n\n\n\nECHO Players welcomes Quesnel writer Roy Teed and veteran local director Robb Mowbray to the Village Theatre. Following its run in Qualicum Beach\, the production is slated to represent ECHO Players at the Theatre BC North Island Zone Festival in Nanaimo in May.
